Which Visa? There are different types of Partner Visas for Australia, each with their own requirements.

Some Partner Visas:

  • have special requirements about the length of your relationship; or
  • have restrictions on where you must be when the visa is lodged or approved.

Working out which one is best for you can be confusing if you do not understand the Law on migration, the visa process and how your information fits together.  Knowledge is key!  This, and help in navigating the maze of rules, are just two reasons why you should get the right migration advice.

Spouse or de facto Visas

If you are married or have been in a de facto relationship for at least 12 months, then you may be eligible for a Spouse or de facto Visa.  A “de facto relationship” applies to both same-sex and heterosexual couples.

You may not need to have lived together for 12 months if you are in a de facto relationship AND have registered your relationship with one of the State Relationship Registers.

All relationships are assessed to confirm that the relationship is genuine.

As well as other things, we can help you to:

  • Show your commitment to each other, including the length of your relationship and time spent living together;
  • Show financial evidence supporting your commitment to each other;
  • Show the social aspects of your relationship, including pictures and the opinions of family and friends about your relationship.

Considering Marriage?

You may be eligible for a Prospective Marriage Visa if you are considering marriage to your partner in Australia.
